Pacific Dental Services
Founded in 1994, Pacific Dental Services® (PDS®) is one of the country’s leading dental support organizations, providing supported autonomy that enables dentists to concentrate on clinical excellence and the highest levels of cost-effective comprehensive patient care. PDS originated the Private Practice+® model to enable dentists to focus on their passion: serving patients. PDS also pioneered the concept of Modern Dentistry so that dentists are equipped to combine advances in the latest technology with the best operational practices and procedures, highly skilled support staff and a commitment to ongoing training and education. PDS continues to grow, with over 750 supported dental offices across 19 states and plans to expand into several new markets. PDS has been on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing private companies in America for the past 10 years in a row. PDS aims to be the provider of choice in all the markets they serve, helping supported dentists to develop Patients for Life™.
Pacific Dental Services was built on a foundation of eight core We Believe values and a culture of service. Through the We Serve program, team members are provided with eight hours of paid volunteer time each year to serve in their local communities. At the regional level, PDS partners with KaBOOM! to build playgrounds for children in underserved communities, often combining these events with Pacific Dental Services Foundation mobile dental clinics. Serving with the PDS Foundation, team members also provide much needed donated dentistry to Guatemala, Fiji and Ethiopia through international service trips. In addition to better equipping and enabling communities to better serve themselves, these trips also have a life-changing effect on the volunteers who give their time, resources and expertise to help people in need.
Since 1994, we’ve supported dentists through PRIVATE PRACTICE +®, creating the synergy between your focus on Clinical Excellence and our business support expertise. In supporting you, we handle the administrative tasks so that you can concentrate on providing the best dental care to your patients. That way, you have more time to live your life, whether it’s volunteering in your community, spending more time with family or pursing other interests.
Your career path begins as an Associate Dentist in a Pacific Dental Services supported office. Whether you are a recent graduate or have practiced for some time you won’t be alone. You will have plenty of other dental professionals supporting you; to confer and collaborate with as you continue to grow in your career. Through the PDS Institute, you’ll participate in the Introduction to Clinical Excellence Essentials (ICEE) program. This program introduces you to the modern dentistry environment that you’ll be working in and prepares you to provide the quality of dentistry your patients expect.
As an Associate Dentist, you’ll also have the opportunity to become an owner of an office. As a new Owner Dentist you’ll participate in New Owner Orientation, a year-long program designed for the challenges and considerations an Owner Dentist faces when leading a practice. The course teaches leadership skills and how to build a culture that inspires people to reach their potential. We want you to be a collaborative leader who can develop a team for your practice. You should know how to mentor other clinicians to provide the best dental care to their patients, and be a clinician who never wants to stop learning. We want you to work with your management team to achieve the goals of your practice. In short, we want leaders.
